Ollie Hill, owner of Mylor Mooring Services, is concerned about the growing problem of end of life boats on the Fal and Helford and has the gear to help tackle it.

"During the past decade as owner of Mylor Mooring Services, I have seen first hand the increasing number of wrecked or abandoned vessels appearing in creeks and waterways in and around Carrick Roads and Helford. We have worked with organisations in the past offering support in collecting ghost fishing gear, flotsum and jetsum which gather in areas of sheltered waters of our complex coastline. We at Mylor Mooring Services take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and continue to work with several conservation and environmental organisations in a range of ways. Indeed, we were recently highly commended at the Cornwall Sustainability Awards for our work in developing a seabed sensitive mooring for use with port notices, swim markers and other instructive and informative buoys.

We hope to work with Wreckfree Fal and Helford in helping to clear abandoned vessels from the beautiful creeks around us, offering lifting and transportation support with our range of work vessels."
