Fal Sailor Amanda Ayliffe is raising funds for a reseach voyage to study the impacts of ocean plastics in the Pacific AND tackling the problem in her home port by supporting the work of Plastic Free Falmouth and Wreck Free Fal & Helford. Please support her if you can!
Amanda is raising funds to join an inspiring 10-day all-women research voyage with eXXpedition South Pacific III in June 2026. Travelling from her home in Cornwall, she will join the crew in Tonga to help collect vital scientific data on ocean plastic pollution.
Amanda will connect the research back to Cornwall through her role as Coordinator for the Fal and Helford Special Area of Conservation, to explore local plastic pollution challenges and share insights from the expedition.
She is funding at least half the cost of the expedition herself and is donating surplus funds raised to support the work of Plastic Free Falmouth and Wreck Free Fal and Helford.
